First of all, let me thank you for making me laugh (a lot) when I was in need of it. This post is hilarious. <3
And the poem itself... Isn't it lovely? Yes, sure, full of patriotic (ancient) Teutonic stuff, BUT quite cute after all. If you're interested, btw, I'm sure I've got something about it in my philology books. Not much, just a few useful notions about context and interpretation here & there in the midst of the big Medieval German literature overall, but it could be interesting nonetheless... I'll try and email some of that to you, if you'd like. ;)

This poem is actually one of the cutest things I've read in a while. So Teutonic it hurts, ideed, but also bittersweet and kind of adorable in its own way. <3
