Waaah! I love his clothing! And this is rather in tie with the birthday gift I'll hopefully send you sometime soon! ;)
But, honestly, I find his face slightly creepy. His look is so far away...
In any case, I'm positively mesmerized by the clothes! I didn't know you liked to sew and embroider. His removable shoes are just awesome! Wonderful! And his belt! The trousers! Yay!
Creepy? Oh. Okay. You're not the only one; it appears ABJDs are sometimes referred to as "those creepy dolls" (not by their owners, obviously). To be honest, I really can't see that myself. I fell in love with this doll right away and think he is unspeakably cute XD. But I put his eyes in myself, so if there is something strange about his look, that may possibly be adjustable by someone more expert than me
( ... )
To say the truth, I find most dolls slighly creepy, especially the china ones. Maybe this depends from the fact that, before settling on Richard III, I was supposed to write my degree thesis on dolls which become alive, like in The Sandman by Hoffman. I collected a small bibliography on the theme, and probably inconsciously I still believe that there are dolls with a soul...
Awesome! ♥ The doll is great, but your costume so much more so, a wonderful ensemble. I can absolutely understand wanting to make dolls of own characters. It brings them even more to life, doesn't it?
