I haven't actually read P&P (heretic!) but I enjoyed it very much. :D And I was really surprised by the ending, which is rare for telly! And I wished it hadn't ended where it did. :)

Yeah, I liked the ending too and I'm a JA fanatic ;) - I showed it to a friend who has read it, and really likes it but isn't a fanatic like me and she didn't like it - but then she liked the movie that was never made, so I shouldn't be surprised. Most other people I've shown it to love it as much as I. I like the way they took the story and ran with it, in a completely different direction than most do. Another one like that is "Vanity and Vexation" which is amazing, but it helps to have read the original. I own it, so I can lend it to you, after you've read the real deal ;)
And I think they might have left the ending as it is to make it possible for future series.
Did you watch it on telly or on the reportedly wrecked DVD?
