I'm defensive about my favourite characters, like I'm sure everyone is to a point.

This Australian Criminal Minds review popped up in my Google Alerts & I got as far as...

[the episode's storyline] is actually about making the big-boned computer girl feel better about herself.

Simple explanation: most Australians, including girls, are ... weightist arseholes.

But seriously. I have to slap down one of my friends (who is naturally skinny as a rake) for occasionally slipping and making comments about my weight (and I don't even consider myself overweight that much, but apparently I am by his standards?). I hate Australia a lot sometimes. :|

I don't know if this is a comforting fact but -- it's not just Australia. I've heard this kind of crap from Americans, Britons, & others; I was just surprised to see it on a website like the Courier Mail. :/

That's really unfortunate about your friend. I had a friend like that once &, sadly, we're no longer friends because I just couldn't handle that criticism from someone who was supposed to be a friend. :(

I just wish that the writer would have had the guts to call her fat & not beat around the bush the way she did. If you're going to be offensive, you should at least go all the way. :(

OH, NO, SHE DIDN'T!

I love Garcia. And you know what? Part of loving her is loving that she's not a teensy toothpick-sized woman. Garcia is the most adorable thing that ever adorabled, and even more so because she looks like a person I could actually meet in real life.

Yep, yep! One of the reasons I love Garcia so much is because she's so normal. She doesn't hate her body, she embraces it. Garcia loves her curves & dresses fantastically to accentuate them.

I have a feeling that the writer is one of those people who thinks that fat people should ashamed of their bodies & hide themselves away from all the 'normal' (read: skinny) people.
