Majel Barrett Roddenberry died this morning.

I've been having a rough day because of some real life shit, but that crap pales in comparison. Celebrity deaths don't usually affect me a lot, but GOD. I loved her.

She really was amazing. When I first started watching Star Trek: The Next Generation, I didn't really know who she was but I loved her character on the show. Learning more about her afterwards really opened my eyes to how devoted she was to Gene & his work.

I first caught it while I was reading LJ; I thought it was someone's idea of a cruel joke. :(

I didn't believe it at first. I must've checked a every reputable news site there is, just to make sure it was true. I couldn't believe that such a great woman was gone from this world so soon. :/

You're the first person I thought of when I heard the news. :/ Especially considering that we had just talked about her. Watching the new movie now will definitely be... bittersweet.
