It looks like I should feel miserable more often -- I've read two books so far today, and that might be a record for this year (unfortunately). I'm focusing a bit on manga right now, because the library has a decent selection & I've been meaning to read more anyways. I picked up the first volumes of about 10 different titles & now I'm working my ( Read more... )

manga, books: read, manhwa: kill me kiss me, manhwa, manga: gacha gacha

I was really disappointed with the second volume of Kiss Me Kill Me as well, and didn't bother getting the third. I have that problem a lot with manga -- something that has an interesting premise will often reach a point where it just doesn't seem to know where it's going anymore. It's even more frustrating when it happens five or ten volumes into a series >.<

I recommend Hana Kimi if your library has it. It's about a girl who disguises herself as a boy in order to get into the single sex high school that the high-jumper she idolises attends, and it also involves classic misunderstandings and people questioning their sexuality, and of course, ultimately true love. I've read six volumes so far (I believe there's about 17 in total) and it hasn't dipped in quality at all.

Yikes. :/ That has to suck.

Thanks for the recommendation! ♥ It sounds exactly like what I'm into right now (obviously). :D My library does have it, so they're holding it for me until I can go pick it up.

That's the great thing about manga, if you read one that sounds good but turns out to be disappointing, chances are you can find another series with very similar plot and themes, haha.

Hope you enjoy it! That's great your library has it, my library only has about two manga volumes >.

*snugs* Books are our friends! And the library is also very much our friend ^_~

For some reason, my local branch never seems to have the first volume of anything... there's a few things I'd pick up if I could start at the beginning.

I love libraries. 'Where the books live.' And thankfully it's rent-free. ;D

That would drive me absolutely nuts. :/ And I know completely what you mean, everything from the beginning & in order. *nods*

I don't know how Canadian libraries work, but I know that libraries here have interlibrary loan programs. Maybe that could help.

I know the library here has inter-branch loans, but I'm a little nervous about them - it seems too easy, y'know? I feel like I should have to go get things off the shelf myself, else it doesn't count. (Yes, I am weird.)
