So this New Years shit was lame this year. Stayed at home, laid in bed, and took advantage of On Demand while it was still functioning properly. so, getting a good look outside, everyone across the street has power. but one thing I noticed is the street light we have over the road. its on, which means our side of the street has power since its on our grid, which means the lines are probably down in our backyard or one of the neighbors. damnit ( Read more... )

looking at the brightness of the flashes, I have to wonder if thats a major transmisson line thats down and arcing. If I wasn't too scared to leave my room, I'd go upstairs to see if the power is out on some of the other blocks not on my part of the grid.

Not really. So, power is out here. Winds are gusting up to over 60 mph according to the weather channel. I've peeked out my window twice so far to see the sky light up a few times from downed lines/blown transformers in the area ( Read more... )
