I can so one-up that story.

A couple of years back, half of Juneau was left without power, because an eagle dropped something on the power line. This actually happens on an occasional basis, feathered terrorists that they are, so the technicians go to get whatever it is down.

And they discover a whole deer head tangled up in the wires.

Beginning to turn into a Roland Emmerich movie -- I'm foreseeing entire herds of cattle dropping from the skies, a cattle carpet bombing....

Reminds me of Get down from there, ram. Now that was a big bird.

Hee. I'm guessing the ram one actually happened when the technicians were stringing the wires. They start out lying along the ground and then get raised up all at once; the ram was probably just standing in the wrong place at the wrong time. (A similar thing happened with a moose getting strung up by its antlers in Fairbanks - I think the picture ended up on Snopes.)
