Belated thoughts for Earth Day

Thanks for sharing. One thing that I'm going to explore is how many of the jobs that have been lost will ever return? If they don't, you have to ask yourself what everyone is then going to do. I don't think there will be enough Green Jobs -- whatever that means -- to fill the void. Take care and stay safe, Ju

I think jobs will need to look very different. Already, in my area people are looking for farm hands and a nearby rural community is planning to set up its own food processing facility so that farmers can get their goods to local markets. Those are jobs that have gone begging for years (or disappeared altogether). Fast fashion and silly amusements like the escape room where my daughter worked may never recover. You stay safe as well!

That sounds like a really interesting read! That's my hope too, that this crisis will cause a lot of us to re-think our habits and lifestyles. According to a poll, only 9% of the British want life to be "as usual" after the pandemic, and have become much more aware.

On one hand, this gives me hope for the planet and our societies. On the other, I know how easily people just forget and fall back into old habits (and I'm guilty of that myself, God knows). For the moment, I'm just glad Mother Nature is getting a break from our stomping all over her continuously.
