It is the 100th anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge. This is the battle that Canadians consider to be a turning point in our history, the time when we stopped being colonials and truly became a nation. I am a total Paul Gross fangirl...in fact it's because of Paul Gross that I found online fannish community. I saw his movie Passchendaele right away, got a copy of the novelization of it, and also got a bottle of the Passchendaele memorial beer.

How lovely that you were able to hear it again! That is a love stained glass window and it's hard to think of the blood that was shed on that lovely meadow. Sigh... why must there be wars?
