The last time I bought cat food and treats, I blithely picked up my usual brands and didn't think about how they were packaged, until last week. They are bagged in plastic, of course. I have browsed around at several shops since, and pretty much all cat food is now sold in plastic bags (except the stuff in cans). Some dog food is still available in ( Read more... )

Such pretty kitties!

I have Speedo and Lily. I feed them canned, mostly. I heard from a speaker once, that cats need canned food, because they can't get enough water/moisture from eating dry. Anyway, they've done well on Friskies. I've had to do medical food for previous cats with urinary issues. Friskies FINALLY started making recyclable cans.

Thanks. Speedo is an especially great name for a cat. I have a fountain that seems to keep mine drinking enough water. For me, it has been a toss-up between canned (and tartar teeth) or dry (and the risk of urinary issues). Over the years, I have had cats with both, though thankfully not at the same time.

I love your cat stories. You have beautiful cats. You know, until you mentioned it, I never gave any thought to the plastic cat food bags. It is very irritating. They used to be paper.

I love an excuse to share the cats. I don't remember when they switched either - plastic is so insidious that way. The girl was given some lollipops for valentines and the sticks were plastic! That is just wrong. Lollipops are supposed to get all gooey on a paper stick.
