Could I write a cookbook?

For the past year, I have watched cortejo with a mix of pride and envy as she has deciphered a renaissance cookbook. I have several cookbooks I would like to do that to. I have tons of redactions from various cookbooks that have never made it anywhere. I have even started inventing recipes and WRITING THEM DOWN. Could I actually put together a whole ( Read more... )

I've got a hardcover notebook I have been putting recipes and notes on. The first entry is May 1990, and I am at page 179. Originals, adaptations, and a few straight copies. Both mine and Jen's.

You should go for it.

I've been envisioning one since the 80's, coming out of soe feast and cooking entry projects. But every time I even shape it in my head as an idea, somewhere to go, I think of a new aspect that would need to be thought about. (Of course, your mind is way different from mine, so I'm betting you could go somewhere with this plan!) Heck I've been rewriting and editing the article on Norse food that I wrote for the Norse interpretive training manual for what...13 years?

I think you could. My only thought is that your interests are so varied and your interest in food is so varied that you'd have trouble focusing on a "theme".
