Now I'm imagining President and Supreme Court Justice William Howard Taft leaving messages from beyond the grave on my answering machine. His voice is all wavery and you can hear someone playing a theremin in the background.

I don't know who I would try to contact..

Would it be an old president? a dead movie star? someone I know?

Maybe I can just contact aliens instead...

Yeah, but then you get into the problem of aliens speaking different languages, or communicating telepathically, or through flashing a series of infrared-light-emitting nodes on their torso.
