May 01, 2008 00:56

who; The Laurent twins
what;  Bonding :)
when;  Last night.
where;  Aurélie's room.

It was fairly quiet in the home, even if Aurélie was naturally silent when left alone. Still, Théodore was somewhat surprised to walk into the living room to see the television set left on at a low volume but no sight of his twin in the room. Holding his towel to his damp hair, he reached for the remote control and shut the television before tossing it onto the couch.

The light in Aurélie's room was still on.

He made his way over to her door and opened, spotting his sister at the desk.

"What are you up to?"

Aurélie been looking at that community, the strange one that had random pictures of her that she couldn't recall taking. Though she hardly spoke to people, both out of shyness and a lack of anything substantial to reply with, it was interesting to read. And it wasn't like she had much else to do, anyway.

She gasped quietly when her door opened, easily startled though she knew that it was only her and Théodore who lived here.

Trying to cover up her surprise, she smiled at him hesitantly.

"I was just on that community," Aurélie answered. "..Are you going to bed soon?"

He had heard that light gasp and seen her startled expression that she quickly covered up. Rather than pressing her about it, Théodore smiled back and rubbed the towel in his hair.

"After my hair's dried up." He replied. "Thought you'd be in bed by now,"

"Oh.. soon, then?" He looked like he had just gotten out of the shower, but his hair dried quickly.

She turned back around, closing out of her windows and shutting down the computer. It was rude to have other things going on when someone was talking to her - even if that someone was her brother.

"Ah, I was about to, but I got distracted."

"Unless you don't want me to?" he asked in a teasing tone.

He watched her close the computer quietly. Théodore preferred no distractions when talking to her but he was usually the one to cut off anything that would distract them. Seeing Aurélie do these things herself brought a tiny smile to his face. It was amusing to watch her most of the time, especially since she was so dedicated to him when he was originally the one who started keeping an eye on her. Maybe his habits had rubbed off on her.

"Distracted by what anyway?"

"Um." She tried to think of an answer, because she really didn't mind either way, and settled for not answering directly at all. "Whatever you want is fine with me."

Getting up, she made her way over to the bed, slipping in under the blankets.

"Just people talking.. one man was writing about his wife." He seemed a little bizarre, really, but she did admire his forwardness even if it was only words on the internet. Thoughtfully tilting her head to the side, she pulled up a strap that slid off her shoulder absentmindedly.

Théodore's eyes had caught quick sight of the loose strap but said nothing while Aurélie pulled it back up.

He laughed lightly, "Alright, I'll stay up a bit more."

He followed her over to the bed and took a seat on the edge but close enough to Aurélie. He adjusted her covers gently.

"Oh?" Théodore was trying to put a face to what she had said. He was sure he had seen someone in the community around like that. "There's all sorts of people in that place, huh."

"Thanks," she said, smiling again before leaning against the headboard. Tracing light patterns over the blanket with her fingers, she stopped before gently clasping her hands together over her lap.

"Mm, some of them seem nice.. have you made friends?"

Théodore gave her a sheepish smile.

"I don't know if I can call them friends yet but acquaintances. Remember Charlotte? I met a guy who's dating her named Reggie."

Reggie. He wondered if that person had noticed Charlotte's powers. Then again, it had been a while since he had last seen Charlotte so there was a better chance she had learned to control her ability without doing anything to others like how she had drained Théodore without him even realizing until he actually felt fatigue drench him. It wasn't a pleasant feeling.

He broke out of thought, noticing Aurélie's small frame rise up against the headboard. For a moment, he thought to himself, she looked comfortable in the bed.

Théodore's hand rose and patted his sister's head. "What about you?"

She was comfortable, really, warm and content to just sit with Théodore like this.

"Oh, I do.. she was nice, I think. She has a twin too, right? But I think I've seen Reggie around."

Aurélie thought for a bit, thinking over it. "Not really, but I don't mind." Her brother was the charming one, who'd had lots of girlfriends, not her, who had never even been kissed.

He had seen Reggie talking to his sister in one of the posts earlier. Not that Reggie posed a threat but Théodore was curious about him since he was dating Charlotte. There was still Charlotte's twin to look out for as well.

Brushing some hair away from Aurélie's face, he tucked several strands behind her ear and shifted closer.

"Evie thinks you're cute though," he said.

Aurélie unconsciously leaned in to his touch, closing her eyes for a second.

"She thinks everyone is cute, doesn't she?"

He let his hand trace down her cheek to brush over her bottom lip lightly with his thumb.

"But you still count." He smiled, leaning his forehead against hers. "Don't be so shy with compliments," he whispered.

"Ah," she started, at a loss for words. This was okay, right? He was her brother, but being this close made her pulse quicken in a way it shouldn't. But if anything, she trusted Théodore. He had never been anything but loving towards her.

Aurélie parted her lips to say something else, but they were so close and it made it hard to think.

The calm and reassured look she gave Théodore only tempted him to bring himself closer to her.

And he did, their breaths mingling together now. He placed a hand on her chin, looking her straight into her blue eye, since her other one had the eye patch on it.

"Ah?" he mimicked her.

Her hands were fisted in the bedsheets now, and feeling lightheaded, she inched forward hesitantly to close the gap between them, trying not to think about what they were doing, what she was doing. It was.. only once, and she didn't mean it this way, but his lips were warm and somehow familiar.

Aurélie's lips were soft and pleasant. Théodore wasn't surprised she hadn't backed away or gone under the covers. He tugged the towel off his head and let it drop to the floor and continued to press his lips against hers.

With his free hand, he curled it around her back and laid her on the bed before pulling himself entirely onto the mattress.

She tasted like he had always imagined.
