hi...i'm posting this because i was reading many of lj's entries and there's something i just can't get....all those persons talking about the new ABL video...well, many of them have liked the video and the idea which inspired it....but many are complaining...

Holy Hell! Talk about a HUGE over assumption! Last time I checked there were THREE other members of Thirty Seconds To Mars: Shannon, Tomo and that other dude *G* (TIMMY!)

Yes, I don’t like Jared, and I don’t think much of him, but that DOES NOT mean I cannot or do not like the band, or that I am even a hypocrite for liking the band. My husband likes Jamiraqire, but he doesn’t like the fact that the guy does drugs! I may not like my local member for parliament, but agree with some of his ideas. To assume something as big as I don’t like the band because I don’t like Jared (or worship him) is a huge overstatement.

For myself, I got into the band through Tomo. Saw him, thought he was hot, listened to some of their music, really enjoyed it. Jared has an EXCELLENT voice (but I don’t like him as a person - that’s my choice!) I don’t have to love Jared, or even think that much of him to appreciate that he has a brilliant voice and is a great singer.

Yeah, I have to disagree here. You know I'm a big 30STM fan and I don't exactly love Jared. So many 30 fans are like that so how can you say that we dislike the band simply because we don't like Jared?
Just because he's the founder/leader/songwriter of the band doesn't mean I have to like him to like the band. I can appreciate and enjoy someone's talent without liking them as a person, I don't think that's a contradiction.
Just my two cents :)

well,thank you for contributing with your opinion :) As we have already talked (chatted, actually) many times, we know each other's opinion on this subject... but,if you've read well what I wrote (maybe i didn't stress it enough....) i say: If you don't like Jared Leto AT ALL, HATE him, if you CAN'T STAND him...which would imply that you cannot even hear to talk about him, that you cannot even stand to see his face or hear his voice... that you cannot share the minimum of his thoughts, which i think are quite widely expressed in his songs... then you cannot like his music (and yes, let's face it...it's his music...the fact no other member of the band would participate in such compositions, well i don't know....maybe it's him...maybe they are all happy to leave it like that...) nor share the ideollogy expressed in their art... and there are people out there who, believe me has said things as such (that they despise the guy, that they cannot stand him, etc

Hi. I didn't read any comments about new video so I don't know who hate him for what. For me, I do like him but the same as you, there is certain part of him that I dislike (I generally don't like the person who talk talk talk!! and he is the leader and speaker of the band so I kind of don't like that part of him) HOwever. I love him from Hephaistion role and his ability in creating beautiful song (though I love the first album more than the second one), so I choose to stay away from his interview and only remotely check on him(especially his beautfiful face) when he is with the band. Anyway, from your post, it look like he received a bad complaining. I felt sorry for him because I think he mean well and he tried to do what he think is the right thing to do or to advocate...

Well, there could be many readings of his intentions, but i do also prefer to think like you do...and also that if the other band members are with him at the video and the organization, they do it for their own convictions and not for obligation...

On the one hand i can understand people who say that they like the Band and do not like Jared as a person, because the Band and Jared are 2 completely different notions. Of course Jared is an ideologist, he composed all the songs and he put his soul in this project. But anyway 30 seconds to Mars is not only him and he can think that he could make a record with whoever he wants, but every member of the band really makes its own priceless contribution to the whole creative work. I can’t just imagine the Band without Snannon or Tomo.
As for my personal opinion, I know that Jared isn’t perfect and sometimes I don’t agree at all with his behavior or some actions, but I wouldn’t dare say that he’s a piece of shit, or any other bad definition that can be given. I appreciate him too much for all that he did and is doing and I think that it’s impossible to say such things about a person you don’t know, because every bad action has its reasons and excuses.

well...(and many people will HATE me for this...) i can agree that without Shannon the band wouldn't be the same...but without Tomo...I just don't know...i loved their first album and Tomo wasn't part of the band at that time...he is gaining more importance by now....yes, but...what about Matt then?? Has the band ceased to gain attention, or to exist after he left???

I do not (and didn't write here either)say that Jared is a perfect person or a hero, or even the best model to admire/try to imitate, and i did also say he has maaany things i don't like or share with him, but that does not mean i will claim he's just crap or a bad person or a complete asshole! so here we really agree :) and also with your last 2 lines: ..."and I think that it’s impossible to say such things about a person you don’t know, because every bad action has its reasons and excuses."

You know, i began to listen to their music seriously about a year and a half ago and i didn't manage to get used to Matt and even in this case i felt a kind of regret for his leaving. And i know pеоple whose attitute toward the band changed a lot. That's why i tell that i can't imagine 30stm without Tomo. As for Shannon i think that the band without him could never exist and be the same as it is now.

But i just completely agree with your point of view it the other aspects of this topic, yeah)

it's ok ;) I was a little bitchy the other night!!! and yeap i did piss off when i read the bunch of crap that was going around the Internet and LJ about the new video and especially Jared...i know the guy has his issues but if it wasn't for him (and Shann) i think the band would have never existed, so if we now know Tomo, we should be thanking Jared to have selected him to form part of the band...i mean, they do not have to love him or worship him, but i think he deserves a little respect... :) And it's always good to receive your comments ♥♥♥
