I've never played the DMC games but....weren't they doing pretty well in the first place? Why the fuck would they reboot? Are they trying to pull and Prince of Persia?

Now, I love the 2008 PoP in its own way, but I love Sands of Time more. And I did have problems with Ubisoft making an IN-BETWEEQUEL for the Sands of Time series. I saw one trailer and was like "FGSFDS".
