My Hugo Votes: Best Novel 2014

Less than half a day to choose your favourites for the Hugo awards! The bad news is that I had to do remarkably little reading to come to my conclusions. The good news is that my winner is a discovery on a par with N. K. Jemisin's 100,000 Kingdoms which was a nominee in 2011.

Oh hey there! Will we see you at the con? :-)

I cannot wait for Ancillary Sword. Tony finally got around to reading Ancillary Justice and said "did you know the next one is available for preorder?" and I gave him a Look. Yes, I've had it on preorder since about 5 minutes after finishing the first one.

Not too long to wait, fortunately! I was afraid it would be a gap of years, rather than months, between books.

Unfortunately, Wingnut's work schedule has screwed up WorldCon somewhat. It looks like I'll be there Thursday and maybe Friday and Monday. The weekend doesn't look so likely. :( On Thursday, I'm planning to go to the Connie Willis & G R R Martin interview, but that's all I know so far.
