Evil fake trees are much better for the environment if you keep them for a few years! The one year we got a real tree I spent the rest of the year feeling guilty for killing it... And A spent it hoovering up needles from his front room!

Yeah, this was meant to be a quick fix but now I've bought it I feel like I should keep it for a while so as not to be wasteful.

I'm not sure of the impact of real trees vs fake. I really should look it up!

Now I'm reading about lead in fake trees. Argh.

Trees were awfully expensive this year: ours cost £50 for a 6-footer in the grim up north.

I wonder why! Though sollersuk below seems to have gotten a much better deal.

Apparently growing conditions weren't good so the trees didn't do well.

That's a big problem with real trees: I'm looking at my little one beside the window and it reall does form an equilateral triangle. I do have a fake one tucked away for when I can't get a nice reasonable real one (this one's about 4 ft and cost £15) and the fake tree is much narrower for its height.

We have to have a fake tree. The crap they spray on real trees (to try to stop the needles falling out) sets off asthma suffers in this house too much. I haven't had a "real" Xmas tree since my early teens and really don't miss it.
