This story is beautiful, Ms Foxx. I love Martha to bits but I don't think I've come across many Martha-centric fics yet, so seeing this on the flist made me very very excited (hence the frantic keysmashing lol)
I can really hear her voice in this, you know? Castle's too. Fabulous.
She might be a little out there most of the time, but she's there when it really counts, isn't she? Your story reminded me of that "don't waste another minute of it" moment in 3.24, which was one of my favorite moments of the finale. Fabulous window into their mother son relationship!
This line:
“Well, I’m a bit late to the Mother of the Year party, but I’m here now, darling.”
is fantastic. It's HER.
The coffee reference made me smile like a fool and I really liked R&E looking after Alexis.
Hon? I loved the whole damn thing. Moar plz nao lol

But yes, it IS nice to be back in the fanfic saddle again after so long - Martha is one of those characters I simply adore and I have a feeling there'll be more Martha-centric fic from me in the not-to-distant future. *g*
Really appreciate the very kind words, hon - it was a bit nerve-wracking posting actually, coz it's been a while!!

This is moi fave: She squeezed his hand in response. “Well, I’m a bit late to the Mother of the Year party, but I’m here now, darling.”
Because you know what? She really is. I love their relationship and I love this fic.
(darls? Did you realize that you don't share the table I've started but you have your own prompt table, hence 30 fics? ROFL. I thought about this this arvo, and I laughed loudly. YOu don't have to commit to 30 fics, but you can easily do it ; )

Thanks as always for all your encouragement, Rosie - as we've talked about before, we both love Martha's character - she brings an added and much needed layer to the show and to Castle himself. I really enjoyed playing around with this and am so happy that her 'voice' rings true. I seem to have a tendency to write about the ensemble characters of a show, usually never the main ship. But you know what, that's okay by me.
Oh, and btw: do you realise how FEW Martha icons there are about the place?? LOL. Took me ages to find this one!!

Love the second to last line, i.e. the Mother of the Year party. lol And is it wrong that I so enjoy reading Castle's utter anguish? Because I do.

But Castle is just one of those shows that prods the muse, as you've since discovered, hon! Glad you enjoyed this - and it's not wrong to love reading about the anguish of Castle, lol - I could answer that by asking if it's wrong to love writing about it?! Because I like doing that, too. *g*
