Anonymous Protest
London may be a wonderous city full of varied characters, but one thing I did not expect to see while shopping on a Saturday afternoon was a zombie lurching towards me to the tune of "Thriller". The people across the road wearing V for Vendetta masks made his mission clear -- it was another protest against Scientology.
Scientology has a centre about halfway up Tottenham Court Road. There are usually a few members standing outside, looking like cut-price Mormon missionaries, offering passersby free stress "tests". Scientology annoyed an Internet disorganisation called Anonymous earlier this year by demanding that YouTube take down a rather...intense... and embarrassing interview with Tom Cruise. As the geeks already know, that was the point at which Anonymous basically said, "game on."
I'm putting my money on the guys with a sense of humour.
