Art: spn_gen_bigbang "You've Done All the Things That Could Kill You Somehow" (Gen, PG13)
I have to share a little back-story on this collaboration, because it blows my mind: This story was originally written for the 2012 spn-gen-bigbang. But it is only making its debut now because the author, sw0rdy, waited an impressive two years for companion artwork.
So you see, this story should never have landed in my hands. While sw0rdy was busy penning this beautiful alternate version of Dean's return/recovery from Purgatory and reunion with Sam, I hadn't even been introduced to the wonderful world of the Winchester brothers. But through some strange and fortunate cosmic turn of events, I got to answer the call for a pinch-hit :) And I'm glad I did because I got first peek at this incredible story (hurt Dean, protective Sam, and feel-good brotherly love! What more could you ask for?) and got introduced to a fabulous and talented gal.
Seriously, go read it now and give sw0rdy her due applause. Pssst, she has a series in mind; let's encourage her to put those words down on paper!

Summary: After eventually finding a ritual that worked, Sam has sprung Dean from Purgatory, but there are a couple of problems: one, Dean's re-appeared in an alleyway in London and two, he's so broken physically and mentally that he's been classed as a 'vulnerable adult' and has been placed under the guardianship of Social Services. When Sam arrives at the hospital he quickly realises that broken bones are the least of his worries...
In addition, thruterryseyes made an incredible set of art for this story, because sw0rdy deserved lots of love, so check it out! :)
