Goin' Fishin', Chapter 4, Catch & Release

Author's Note: There will be one more short chapter of this which I'll post tomorrow, and then I'll get back to AKL. Sorry for the detour, but my head was all messed up, and it needed some down time. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Now, let's get to fishin'!

The fishing started out tense, with Jack staked out a on a large, flat-topped

Jack leaned towards Ennis, asked softly, "So Ennis, tell me......... how many times did you go to the pool and not jump off the high dive?”

Ennis didn’t look up, kept staring straight into the flames, but Jack could see the small, nervous twitch around his lips when he mumbled, “Never.”

Excellent! What a great way to end the chapter.

I'm glad you liked the ending. I wrote right past that point, but it was going to make the chapter too long to post and had to be broken in 2 parts. I struggled with the break. Thanks for commenting early and letting me know I did good. More tomorrow. S!

Hey, thanks for reading. It's not going to end, just rest while I concentrate on AKL again. Sometimes when I get too deep into a story my brain locks up and I have back out and refocus. This is what I'm gonna do while i refocus, write this story and maybe P4K too, which i think could be fun. Ok, back to work. Hugs. S!

And I really enjoyed this chapter, how Jack got all excited about catching a fish, forgetting that they weren't talking to each other. Ennis telling his story about the high dive, later on. Things are starting to get better for them.... :)

Yes, the angst in this story is going to be primarily between them and the other characters. I think their bond is so strong already that nothing is going to rock it much. Glad you enjoyed this chapter. I bet you're gonna like the next one too!! S!
