Ficbit: Book

Jul 24, 2006 17:58

I had this idea of writing a bunch of ficbits and putting them all together into one story and calling it Twenty-three Short Films About Atlantis, but if they're just random they're not going to mesh, so I may as well release some of them into the wild on their own.

Book, 135 words, gen.

Rodney never remembers what the argument was about, which is not the reason why he never tells anyone the story.

He and Elizabeth, they were arguing in her office--it doesn't matter over what, just that he had some brilliant idea and she wouldn't clear it.

He threw his hands up and snapped, "Oh, thank you, Elizabeth Weir's Big Book of Professional Ethics!" and almost before the words were out of his mouth she hauled back and hit him, not a ladylike slap and definitely not a diplomatic one.

All he could do was stand there and gape at her, one hand at his face; all she could do was hold her hands over her mouth in shock at herself.

He told Carson, and anyone who asked, that he got the bruise sparring with Sheppard.
