What: T'WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE IMPACT...
When: Backdated! Friday Sept. 12, early evening.
Where: At yonder beach.
Summary: Since Shinji is made of fail and couldn't think of anything to do for Kaworu's birthday, he suggests they go to the beach instead.
Rating: PG FOR NOW.
( I invited your best friend, Kaworu. Of course, he couldn't come because you murdered him. )

Though he maintained his usual pleasantries when speaking, it was in the silence that Kaworu's preoccupation came to light. His brow would furrow and his eyes would wander off into the distance. This is all so strange.

"Yes, you're right," he replied with a bit of a delay, glancing to the sky and offering it a small smile. "It's very nice out."

[ooc: Now all I can think about is the 'blue sky' thing from Angelic Days..which doesn't make a bit of sense in this context. What with the sky being green and all. :| PS: the cut text made me lol.]

The pause that took place before Kaworu's reply didn't settle too well with Shinji, and he gave the other a brief, vaguely questioning look. To have something bothering Kaworu like this was quite unusual, and he wasn't exactly sure how to handle it.

"You don't mind coming down here with me, do you?" he asked, giving his companion a tiny, lighthearted smile.

[ooc: Now all I can think of is "Sky. Green sky. Something obnoxious to see. Grass. Pink, pink grass. My... favorite color. ♥"]

"I'm always happy to be with you, Shinji," Kaworu answered fondly, returning the smile and shifting the weight of the wood he carried. "Why would you think I'd mind?"

"Ah, well," Shinji thought to himself a little, trying to figure out the best way to phrase his question without prying too much. "You just seem kind of... distracted, I guess."
