This was bad. This was worse than bad. This was absolutely the most hellish thing that could have befallen him. Worse than getting his chainsaw stolen, maybe.

...no, definitely.

Grell was in a panic, running back and forth in the upper halls of the apartment building. Since Kuro died, there was no one who would dare take him in and the last time he thought Will had come to save him, he'd ended up black and blue and worse than when Sebastian had at him. Now it wasn't even that Will was here to save him - it was just punishment.

And Grell hated paperwork.

Opening a window at the end of the hall, the death god jumped, landing roughly on his feet. He was still in a world of pain thanks to that ridiculous war and this wasn't helping any. Glancing furtively to both sides, he made a break for the open field. Across that lay the woods and in there, he could hide forever.

Perhaps Grell was right about being able to hide among the trees. In this oddly colored landscape, William's penchant for black made him stand out more than Grell's chosen obsession of red. But that only assumed that the lower death god would be able to make it to the woods in the first place; it was quite a distance to the haven, with such a large field to cross.

It was to Grell's advantage that William could be clearly seen. But the opposite was true as well.

"Grell Satcliffe." William pushed on the side of his glasses, with only a moment's pause after he spoke the name. Clearly reprimand was inevitable now. Would Grell act civilized and intelligent for once, and cease his futile race?

Black stood out like a beacon in this place and Grell stopped dead as soon as he saw the familiar figure stark against the landscape. He was so very, very screwed. Laughing nervously, Grell started to back away and then stopped, looked to the side and then back at Will. Maybe if he just pretended to be oblivious and cute it would work?

Yeah, when Hell froze over and Sebastian agreed to be his husband.

The only thing that was waiting for him now was pain. A lot of it. "W-Will! Well, what a surprise to see you here! I was, uh, just coming to find you!" Maybe if he just ran like the wind, he'd be able to get away. It didn't look like his boss had his reacher with him and that gave him the advantage.

"I'm certain you were." Grell's lie was met with dry sarcasm, the death god losing patience with this dance. He still advanced even when Grell stopped, his pace steady and unchanging despite the soft ground that clearly wasn't meant for his formal and well-polished shoes. The distance was quickly closing between them, and that was fortunate. William was eager to accomplish something.

"Dispatch Member Grell Satcliffe. Once again, you have been found in violation of regulations. Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
