Watari was in the corner of his lab, hair tied back with a handkerchief. His computer lay open beside him, running a program that refreshed the communications network constantly and kept him updated on changes to it. At the sound of Gren's voice, he set down the phials he'd been had in his hands and smiled a little bit.

"Come in. I'll get that coffee started, shall I?" It was good to see Gren again--good, really, to have reassurance that one of the closest friends he'd made here was still alive and whole.

"Sounds good. Hope I'm not interrupting." He had to duck a bit coming in, and shook his head slightly. "I think I'm glad I decided to stay in the apartments... I'd get a kink in my neck from that," he laughed, looking around the place.

"Wow, you really do have a lab in here..." Apparently you could find just about anything on those trees.

A quiet laugh escaped Watari as Gren had to duck down to enter. "You aren't interrupting anything that's more important than the rest of my business; it can just wait." His usual habit of monitoring the network had been more difficult to keep up with than usual, in the wake of the unexpected murder and with Kuro's attack being anticipated.

Stretching a little bit, he got up and fetched a pair of cups. "Of sorts," he replied. "This isn't much compared to what I had at home; I had to make a lot of it. It's rather like trying to play a shoebox-and-rubber-band guitar some days..."

"Glad to know I have good timing then," he replied, and found himself an uncluttered spot to sit down. He was feeling better than he had all week, but the walk has still tired him out. "I imagine it would be... certainly looks nice and homey, though." He had to admit, the bright straw of the building and the cobbled together state of the lab was doing a good job of preventing him from having a panic attack over the sight of the equipment. So many bad memories, just below the surface.
