Modern Bra-Top Corset Finally Finished

This corset is the main part of an entirely new steampunk outfit I had hoped to have finished before Maker Faire. Alas, I finished the corset on Friday, and the rest must wait until later

pattern match win, and fabric find win. Very cool. how are you liking the cupped corsets? It looks really great, and am considering making one.

The cups are a tricky beast, but I think well worth the effort. I've been buying molded foam cups from the fabric store and draping the fabric to conform to the cup shape. I used two pieces of fabric for these cups, rather than darts. I'll take a couple photos of the piecing and post them later this week, because I like the way it turned out much better than the darts. I also trimmed the foam cups a bit so they followed the lines I wanted.

Mmm. Molded cups hua? Well I'm going to have to wing it then, because those poor little dears would look like pasties on me *un- cut*. LOL

Too bad about the boot hooks not working, as they are a very cool look. The speed lacers were a good compromise while still allowing themselves to be put on.
