It's a couple years old but it came up again somewhere today, and it will never not be funny to me that the use-over-time graph from that Why There's Totally No One Left On LiveJournal research study clearly shows LJ being 1) still actively used by 50% of respondents and 2) more than twice as popular as Dreamwidth.

I remember this. It would be interesting to see an updated version. LJ is still alive, and there's still fandom activity, but there's also a lot of fandom hate in the friending memes. It always makes me depressed, because fandom is an LGBT safe space for me, and when I see people writing "no homophobes, no fandom people," I'm not very convinced at the "no homophobes" part of the statement...

I cross-post from DW, I still visit Haven every couple of weeks, and I have essentially abandoned Tumblr. It won't load now and all of my settings to get rid of the endless scroll are gone.

The truth is, I'm old, and had a terrible 2020--and 2021 hasn't exactly been a bed of roses so far. Fandom has moved on and is doing fine without me and I don't miss the personal drama, frankly. The only two shows I followed this year I'm expecting to get cancelled so even if they had fandoms...
