(In Seattle, a couple making 200k can buy a small decent house a 45m rush-hour commute from downtown, where most of the work is. If a profession worth you dedicating your life to it doesn't get you at least that much, society is broken.)

2- (look, the last fulltime job I had I made $35k. I really have nfc about salary ranges aside from software developers). $65,000?

(I should comment that I was aiming for the answer to #2 to be about what elementary school teachers make, which is it, but then I remembered I didn't correct for the "9 months a year" thing.)
