In memory of my baby.

Jun 17, 2008 13:24

I thought it might help, to write down everything I remembered about my baby while it's still fresh in my mind.

Cut for sadness, and really, really long story of Azzy's life. )

memorial post, azzy death

Sounds like he had a wonderful life. He loved you. He knew you loved him. That is good.

Hang in there.

He reminds me a lot of my Dakota, who, despite having other cats since, will NEVER be replaced in my heart. Its funny how cats are like that.

And dont feel bad looking for another cat. We got Arnie and Yo Yo after the infamous Lulu died to fill the void left both by her and by Dakota. Ironically, Cali died ten days after we got the kittens, but she was sick before we got them. I kind of knew she wasnt long for the world when we got the kittens.

And if youre other cat is feeling the lost and a new friend would help her out, go for it. Youre not replacing your baby. Youre just trying to find a friend for your other cat and to fill the void. No shame in that, if you ask me.

I think most people understand. I hate that we're looking immediately, but I need that void filled - and so does Andrew, and the Ho.

The visit to the shelter last night was therapeutic, even though no one in particular jumped out at us. There was one who has really stuck in my mind but he's very shy and wouldn't even let me touch him - it makes me wish I could have three cats, because I gladly would've taken that gorgeous monster in.

As it is, I may still go back and see if I can get him used to me, to see what his real personality is like. He's a MC mix, also, but he's bigger than Azzy was even.

Too bad you couldn't have the cat that ended up on my doorstep. Very playful. But he was so young he didn't even know how to drink water from a bowl yet, so I had to give him away to a student studying to be a vet major.
