So today I had to bite the bullet and suck up my pride. I had to ask my mom for help with money, and not like I need a hundred bucks, I'm talking thousands, like 5 or 6, I don't even know. I got myself in so deep with my credit cards about 2 years ago. Who in their right mind gave a 20 year old 2,000 and 3,000 dollar limits. I was NOT ready for ( Read more... )

I have huuuge credit limits, too, and I had to take out a buttload of money from my no-no account, and I paid off a chunk of my credit card debt. I only owe about a hundred on two cards right now, and it feels amazing hahah. Feels much better than owing $3500.

I am so sorry! You can get out of it. I paid off my 12k. It happens to a lot of people. I remember when you posted about getting a credit card the first time cuz I worried. They are a necessary evil, but I hate them. Sad it almost have to have one now days. Nearly everyone I know has gotten in deep. Best of luck.

I don't think I want to see another credit card as long as I live. I never dreamed I would get myself in so bad. But it was just too easy

I know a ton of other people that have had a huge ammount of credit card debt btw. I was talking to a girl at work about it, and she was saying that she kept getting credit cards when they'd offer them to her in the mail, and that when she was young, that her appartment was very well furnished (lol), and she was just about done paying it off now - I think she's 30?

You know what? I couldn't live month to month without help from my parents... I mean, I just couldn't. But then again, they couldn't do it without me. I pay the house payment, cause well, it's my house. But without them pay me "rent" I wouldn't be able to afford my car or basically eat.

There is nothing wrong with asking your parents for help. That is why they are there. They are a part of a greater support system. Very, very few people I know have gotten out of their 20's without needing some sort of help. I would say, make this a one-time thing. Don't make a habit of it.

And knowing you, I'd say that is not even something worth worrying about!!

There is no shame in needing a little help. We all do from time to time. You are a very responsible person... You are even showing the level of you responsiblity by admitting that you do need the help.
