If I might self-pimp, I wrote a summary of straight razors here. The link you have has some info that seems dubious - ie: sharpening the blade on the ball of the thumb and shaving 6-15 times without stropping. I'm no expert, but I think that 15th shave would be a little painful. DH shaves with a straight razor and he gets most of his advice here.
