I am STILL thinking about this. (re last night's post) And as I say, it's not so much the fact that this student switched teachers as the fact that she, and her mother, weren't honest about it. They could have just told me they were switching. And as I type this, it seems stupid and ridiculous to dwell on it... is that my vitamins kicking in ( Read more... )

So far there has been no more leash-eating. (Knock on wood.) Of course, we've been careful not to give her any more opportunities.

It is too bad that your student and her mother didn't feel like they could just tell you they were switching. I imagine they felt guilty and/or were worried about hurting your feelings, which at least indicates that they like you, even if they don't know you well enough to know you're understanding about someone wanting to try a different teacher. But whatever prompted them to be sneaky about it, it's their problem, not yours.

The fourth graders were survivable, but crazy yesterday. Oh, damn, and I forgot to post pictures again... :P

Do you have a bit of time on Monday to run to the post office and mail me my fabric? If not, no worries, but I am reminding you, as you requested :D
