“Eunhyuk-shi! Hyukjae! Hyukjae-shi!” He finally stopped when he heard his name and turned to Gae Tan. The middle-aged man looked at him with...Hyukjae wasn't exactly sure what. “Are you sure you want to do this. I mean...being famous is your dream. You couldn't have forgotten that.”

“Ahjusshi, I will tell you the real reason I don't want to be a part of that group anymore. They already know.” His voice was snarls and sharp and it scared Hyukjae even though he was speaking. “I don't want to work with people who are going to ridicule me for the way I live my lie. I'm not going to go on stage with guys who laugh at me because I cry easily. I can't act friendly with jerks who only visit me after an accident because it affects their paychecks.”

“Paycheck?” Gae Tan echoed. “Eunhyuk, they-”

“Goodbye, Ahjusshi.” Hyukjae insisted. “Good luck with those guys.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------“Welcome back, Hyukkie.” His sister's voice called from the living room. Hyukjae gave a grunt as a reply. “Oh, by the way, there's someone here for you.”

“Huh?” He walked to his brother's voice. As he came closer, a head of spiky hair came into view. “Uhm...hi?” It was the blond hair kid.

“Hi.” The boy stood up. “Can we talk?” Eunhyuk didn't see any reason why not to; if it was just the same jerk as all the others, he was in his own home nonetheless.

Hyukjae entered his room and the kid closed the door behind him. An awkward air paused between them and he finally tried to address him. “I'm sorry, I...”

“Leeteuk told me you didn't remember me. I'm Cho Kyuhyun - I'm the maknae.” He smiled and it was all so simple for this guy.

“Sorry. Everything's just...” He sat on his bed. “So what did you want?”

Kyuhyun stood in front of him. “I just wanted to introduce myself. I mean, if you're going to hate Super Junior, might as well known everyone who's in it. So, I'll be going now.” He nodded at Hyukjae and walked out to the door.

Hyukjae, for the first time, felt ambivalent about his hatred. “Kyuhyun-shi,” he called. The younger man looked at him. “I'm sorry. About pulling you into the middle of this. But they set themselves up for this.”

Kyuhyun could've said all the things that would make Hyukjae wrong. But he just smiled at him. “I know Hyung. Bye.” And he walked out the room and down the hall.
