Summary: The love and loyalty of one member is about to be tested.
His room was barely lived in, but that was to be expected. He had lived with SM for 7 years - he probably didn't stay with his family a lot. What a waste.
“Here you go, Oppa. Your old room.” His sister placed his bag at his feet. “I haven't touched anything, I swear.”
Hyukjae rolled his eyes, strolling into the small, small room. It'd been so long that he'd been home, but it felt like he never left.
Sora looked at him. “What are you going to do about your stuff? Why aren't you living with them anyway?”
“Because I don't want to deal with them and their crap.” He looked only vaguely over his shoulder. “Don't talk to me about them. I'll go to SM tomorrow an talk to them about withdrawing.” He made a simple turn and laid down along his bed. “Thanks, noona. Sorry to trouble you for introducing me back to my room.” He put on his gummy smile.
“You better be.” And she let him alone.
Hyukjae turned in his bed, looking at the small, black duffel bag. Most of the presents he left back at the hospital (most of the food, anyway) He took the cards back with him, though he hadn't looked at them for a while. He just...he didn't want to think about Super Junior anymore. And yet, it followed him everywhere.
He didn't remember everything, but he remembered well enough. A part of him said that he was being prejudiced against them, that what he did remember wasn't the whole story. But it was all only fair. They shouldn't have done those things to him anyway.
A number of questions tangled inside his mind and he turned over to face them. Had Donghae been a part of that abuse - his best friend? What did they say behind his back that he hadn't heard? Why had he dealt with it for four years? Wondering all these things made his eyes fuzzy and his head hurt. So he had to let it go.
A techno beat was loud, coming from his pocket. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry - whoever sang this, Hyukjae had to say he was impressed. It was catchy. “Yobosaeyo?”
“Omo, Hyukjae, how're you feeling? Are you home yet?”
“Yey, Umma, I just got here.”
“Good, good, is your sister being nice to you?”
“Yes, Umma.”
“Alright. I'll be home soon and then I'll make something for you.”
“Yea...” There was a moment of pause and just before his mom could hang up. “Umma! My ringtone - do you know who sings it?”
“Is it still Sorry Sorry?”
“Uh...Yes?”
His mom on the other line laughed. “Honey, it's your song. Didn't you know that?”
His song? His...and Super Junior's...song? “No, I didn't.”
He didn't know...what to think about that.
