No matter how much success they achieved, Shinee had their antis. Cruel people who spammed their inboxes with threats and hateful words for no other reason other than they just didn’t like their music. Thankfully, all these comments were on the Internet and if Shinee didn't look, they didn't have to know.
The same could not be said for Taemin.
Another day. He was thrown into the walls by his classmates, who gave him passing angry glances. The graffiti in his locker (how they got in, who knows) all over his homework and workbooks, meaning he would have to do it all over again, before it was due. The isolation in class over projects. Unfortunately, this was all something Taemin had gotten used to it.
The eight hour day passed and coming out, Minho waved to him, happily. Their location wasn't too far away, apparently, so Minho decided to come pick him up from school.
And together, they experienced Taemin's classmates.
Just look at them; thinking they're better than us.
They just sit there and look pretty while we'll actually have to work hard to survive.
I bet they're actually gay in private. Like, flaming.
Can't wait to see Lee Taemin actually trying to get a job.
If he asked me, I'd spit him out the door.
He's such a failure.
The tears were heavy in his eyes. Minho saw Taemin hold his bookbag tight in one hard, no doubt to not to cry in front of all these haters. Shinee all knew about the bullying problems. And today, Minho had a solution.
Out of his pockets, Minho pulled out a pair of furry, black headphones. “Taemin.” The maknae stopped walking, looking up at him. The pair went over his hair and nestled comfortably on his ears. Minho smiled at his work - though it clashed with his outfit completely - and nodded his head further down the sidewalk.
The words kept pouring out of the teenager's. But the difference now was, Taemin couldn't hear any of them. He looked up at Minho and for once - since the whole school year began - Taemin was smiling up at him.
Minho heard him say 'Thank you.'
