Summary: When word spreads that a certain little junior might debut, the parents find it a wondrous time to lunge at each others throats. And their sons' bank accounts.
When Shintaro awoke again, the first thing her noticed was that the cold hard streets were a comfy, fluffy bed. Although the pain of Kamagasaki was still there. Slowly, he at up, but a hand pushed him back down. "Relax, Shin-chan."
"Nii-chan?" Though it hurt, Shintaro opened his eyes and saw Ryutaro - his Nii-chan - was sitting thee, staring at him with concern. "What's going on?" He breathed in, closing his eyes. It took so much energy out of him. In the breath came a combination of a sour and sweet smell. "What's the smell? The sour was a bit stronger.
"Yabu-kun?" Why was he at Yabu-kun's? Yabu-kun lived in Tokyo and Tokyo wasn't Kamagasaki. Tokyo wasn't even Osaka.
A ceramic hit the nightstand and the bed creased. A hand ran across his forehead and involuntarily, he tensed. But the hand was warm and gentle as he felt his bangs pushed aside and he relaced. The hand rested on his cheek and he nuzzeled it slightly. "Shintaro, think about last night. What do you rememeber?"
Last night? Last night, the scary men had come back to get him. But...they hadn't done anything. Because...because...because Nii-chan had found him. "How did you find me?" He wished he could open his eyes, just for him to confirm that last night wasn't a dream, but it hurt too much.
"Your fans know you when they see you." Ryutaro joked lightly, though Shintaro could tell the dead in his voice. "The fact you remembered the rhyme helped too. Hold still." This was before a searing pain.
Shintaro pulled away, not helping the whimper. Fear had become a necessity over the pass weeks and at the moment, it caused Shintaro to shrivel into himself. "Hey, hey. Don't do that." That warm hand returned and grabbing his arm, pulled him closer. "Shin-chan, it's me. It's Nii-chan, ne?" Shintaro nodded in the darkness and came closer. "Gomen ne, but this is gonna hurt a lot. But I have to clean your bruises, okay? I promise I'll make it hurt as little as I can, okay? Just hold still. Here," The hand moved down and grasped his own tightly. "You can hold my hand anytime it hurts, ne? The voice was warm and once more, Shintaro wanted to open his eyes to see that warmth in the eyes they shared.
The stinging increased with each pat and Shintaro was pretty sure he was crushing his brother's hand. But he didn't flinch away and almost smiled when Ryutaro praised him for his bravery, patting him on the head. Just like he use to.
"All done." Ryutaro announced. "Unless...something else hurts too. To this, Shintaro let go of his brother's hand and pulled his legs to his chest. "Oh. Oi..." Though he couldn't see, Shintaro could feel the awkwardness between them. "Do you...want me to get Yabu-kun?" Shintaro was stuck once again. Yabu-kun was his senpai, but he was just that. A far away senpai who didn't know him like his Nii-chan. But Yabu-kun was older and knew more. So he only nodded, scared.
The bed rose from it's loss of his Nii-chan's weight. That warm hand returned to his cheek and a kiss was pressed to his hair. Light footsteps and a door opened and closed.
