ouch. I never really like Lydia, or Wickham really, but still hard to read. Still, wouldn't be surprised for things to turn out this way between them

Lydia & Wickham are hideous, they remind me of my ex & his series of girlfriends after I had him arrested.

Excellent Austen voice! And both Wickham and Lydia are very ic. Love Wickham's reaction to being cuckolded!

I'm a bit sorry for Lydia (though more sorry for the baby), but she is certainly coping better with it than any of her sisters would. She may yet bop. (A good idea altogether.)

Thank you for doing this prompt, and doing such a good job of it.

Thanks, it proved trickier than aniticipated. I was so worried you'd be disappointed.

Of all Austen's characters, Wickham most deserves a bopping.

Not disappointed at all. I'm sorry it was a trouble, but I think you got a good ficlet from it.

We may hope Lydia gets a present, some Christmas, when Wickham slips on the ice of the window sill as he leaves at full speed.

I do think you've deftly captured the probable nature of their married life. I always detested Lydia but didn't mind reading about her at all. Wickham was more interesting to me. I could imagine Gwaine becoming a Wickham in an Austen version. Or perhaps he would actually be Willoughby, who for all his faults and unremediated character, did actually love Maryann and had intended to propose before his aunt put the kabosh on things. Anyway, had Austen been just slightly more generous, I can imagine Wickham perhaps being recoverable had he come under the right influences. Although I suppose what better influence could there have been than Darcy and he's certainly much more interesting (and useful) to the plot as unrecoverable.

Lydia and Wickham are 18-19th century bogans.

Ooh, definitely see Gwaine as Willoughby.

I see Wickham, Willoughby and Crawford as Miss Austen's conscience warning her (and by extension, us) off naughty boys.

This is actually pretty much how I imagined their relationship. Violent, loud and stormy with spots of passion here and there.

Very well done!

The Wickhams certainly aren't dull characters ^_~
Glad you liked it.
