Aaarrgh! [I am not a pirate.] You know, I trust, that there is that important project for a very dear friend on which I'm supposed to be working, not to mention (except that I am) that project about which I'm ambivalent. Then I spotted this and found I can't resist reading it because it's by you. Another fine story thus far. Merlin is well drawn. The initial interaction between Arthur and Merlin is marvelous. Gwen is still Gwen without being ridiculous, as she sometimes can become. The banter between the guys is great and so well-rendered. Gwaine is still Gwaine while showing the substance he ought to have (or develop) underneath the rakish exterior. The story is funny and sexy, yet has that underpinning of something much more serious going on. You know, even your fluff isn't ever fluff. I'm worried. BigOl is, after all, a big ol' Arthur fan. But if it's Merlin + Gwaine = Happy/Hopeful Ending, I'll go along for the ride---but only because it's you! Still, it's an interesting dynamic that Arthur and Merlin began with a fundamental

You know, I really needed this boost. I'm feeling this is my best fanfic yet and hope it stays that way. (Please Gwen, don't become ridiculous)Never intended to finish it, strange hey? It was meant to be a trifling fallback to eliminate writer's block & distance oneself from a sometimes imposing major work.
I hope your very dear friend takes the time to tell you how magnificent you are for all you do. You withstand a lot of emotional torture on that friend's behalf and deserve a lifetime supply of nutella coated Golden Delicious.
