Aahaha, I'm right at Morty too, but I decided last minute (after being trounced by his FREAKING GENGAR, RAWR) that I was going to raise a Oddish instead of James, my Weepingbell. And then my friend traded me a Wingull so I could use it as my HM buddy for fly, surf and whirlpool, so I need to build him up to level 25 so he can evolve...
Why aren't I surprised you went with chikorita? ;D I went with Cyndaquil this time <3
AND BOTH MY POKEMON FOLLOWING ME AND THE BERRY POTS ARE AWESOME/AMAZING. Soooo many leppa berries. hell, if you got stuck in the elite four, all you'd need to do is just sit there a while and water the berries, and you're good to go for more items XD;
Ohhh yes, I'll have to remember it so I can get a Surfing Pika. Ahhh, nostalgia...

Miss you, too! Did I tell you I changed my AIM name again? I don't think I did; I'm Shuripus now. Hopefully that'll be the last name change for a while.
I'll post my Friend Code once I figure out how to obtain it my DS is done charging. I play during downtimes at work and- just about everywhere, so I keep having to charge it about once a day. *g*

Ha! I still play the games regularly- I bought and played through Diamond and got Platinum but never finished it, as well as played Mystery Dungeon Blue and Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time, I just don't partake in fandom activities or watch the anime or anything anymore.

I just got it on Saturday, and I'm really excited about the Berry Pots now :D :D :D That sounds epic.

Also, I too am endlessly amused by the Pokemon following me. I didn't read anything about SS before it came out, so when Cyndaquil followed me, I figured it was like Yellow or D/P and only certain Pokemon can follow you. Damn, was I impressed to find out that was not the case.
ffft, ME TOO. I didn't want to be spoiled for anything before SS came out, so every new thing I discover is so OMGEXCITIIIING. It was lulzy when I still had an Onix and he was out front, knowing how huge they really are... and yet nobody bats an eye, and he never fell through the floor or anything...
Oh, man. I've never really been big on Pokemon, but I almost want to check this version out. Or at least I would if I had a DS. It just intrigues me that they'll actually develop personalities now.
I carry my DS everywhere, even when not playing Pokemon. It's my friend, and like every other piece of Nintendo hardware I've owned, it's stood up to all sorts of abuse. XD My DS is scratched all over the place and has a big dent in the R shoulder button from me dropping it.
Oh, I'd believe it. Nintendo makes solid products. I can be pretty rough with my stuff anyway, but outside of that, at my last job, we would have to destroy the defective items before trashing them. Some of those things can take a hit before cracking, let me tell you. I've even seen pictures of a totally burned out (as in, it had been on fire at one point) and thrashed Game Boy that still worked.
I haven't played Pokemon in ages, but I say the Amazon listing for Soulsilver last night. Now I'm feeling really nostalgic. And I have a DS that is just gathering dust at the moment...

I'd gladly keep Jirachi if you don't want it anymore. ♥ And keep Riolu safe as well.
As far as starters go, personally I always pick the Grass-type. Turtwig eventually becomes Grass/Ground, negating its big weakness to Fire.
