BABBY DEER ♥

We've seen a momma deer in the yard several times, and she's lingered a while, probably looking for a place to give birth... then when Dad was on the porch earlier, he saw the fawn in the corner outside our neighbor's fence and got the camera.

IT'S SO TIIIIIINY. ♥ This particular momma gives birth to two or three fawns every summer, but this is the littlest we've seen them at as of yet; usually when we spot them they're up and active and following Mom around.

It is ♥ Momma deer, not so much- Dad noticed this morning that she ate half our gorram tomatoes and has been working on the neighbor's grapes. :/

Oh! It's beautiful!

There was a year at Girl Scout camp where some of us found one in the bushes by one of the trails. He was snoozing away in there and not one of the girls saw him all day. He was so tiny!!! I think fawns are possibly one of the most beautiful creatures. Besides penguins of course. ;)

They're just so cute! Especially because their legs are so long compared to the rest of their body, they look so awkward trying to walk ♥

Momma deer's gotten on our bad side, though. She's been nibbling at our gorram tomatoes and the neighbor's grapes. We don't hold much hope that the zucchini will survive once it begins sprouting. At this rate we'll probably only be able to harvest rutabega, and that's because it grows underground...
