votes for women! i really like this a lot. this is a part of history that always interested me (not only because susan b anthony lived in my home city). wish there was more to it though, or that it went more in depth.
Women have just as much right as a man to fight for what she believes him ->believes in, and either women and men or a woman and a man, not women and a man.
Thank you. I wish I had had time to put more into it, but I was on a time crunch due to it being for a swap. I had this list of women and had to narrow it down so many times (I had to keep telling myself I couldn't do too many local women from where I'm from - I actually ended up not doing them at all, such as Molly Brown was a pretty amazing woman and I really wanted to write her). I would like to write more with America and Abigail Adams since I respect her quite a bit. Women's history in the US is so interesting, maybe I can take a class on it one of these days.
Thank you for pointing out my typo! I somehow always manage to have at least one, and I guess my beta didn't catch it nor my multiple re-readings...
The prompt I had been giving was examining America's feelings on women's suffrage. It took me a while to puzzle it out, and I really think he would be all for it, a lot of things get compromised due to politics.
To quote my own story:
“You have the opportunity to become something more than any of us can ever possibly dream. Do not forget the women, and do not forget the slaves or any other men or women. We are your people too. Should not freedom be for all of us?”
Lovely! :D I can see you must have done a lot of research for this one, and it's really nice to see Alfred being the embodiment of such noble ideals :)
Thank you! And I really do consider America, both fictional and in real life, to be ideals. Not always living up to them, but trying most of the time. :)
