Friends, a tragedy has reached our city, and most likely our nation. Dave Barry has announced that he is tentatively retiring. Any of you who have not heard the name before now: Just know that you have missed out on life in one of the most important aspects of human existance

aw man that sucks. i love his column, it is funny, true, and well written! this really is a tragedy. it's kinda like when Bill Watterson stopped doing Calvin & Hobbes comics even though he was still able-bodied to do them. sadness.
