All the things you said

You told me you loved me, unconditionally so despite my faults and lies and bad things I've done. You promised me the world if I only listened to you, that you would protect me from bad because I was yours. You ruined my family and took away my friends, your friends looked down on me because of what I like and what I am. How do you expect me to ( Read more... )

It's when reading things like this that I'm so glad I live in a country that doesn't see religion as a vital or important thing. Sure there are those that a deeply rooted in their religions over here but with the general atmosphere that 'as long as you're happy you can do as you want' those that are so rooted doesn't get the attention they want when they try and condem things like bi or homosexuality, abortions or other "important" issues.

No one has ever said a word to me about being bisexual - not even my parents though they did look at me funny at first. So I feel sad that you've had to go through the things you have. But as you observed, it's the older people that have the most trouble accepting changes. I can't say much more than that I'm impressed by your strength in dealing with this.

I dont think I really deal with it. Or at least it's not the right word to use. I think I just ignore it and push it away and when confronted with it turn arrogant and bitchy about the whole things.

Most people now are accepting of nearly everything that goes on whether it's classified as being normal or not. This particular religion and also catholics are very strongly opposed to homosexuality. My father still doesn't know i like girls, but my mom, when I told her, informed me that she was bisexual too and dated a whole bunch of girls before she got married to her ex husband (my father). That was when I started figuring out that my mom only use to go to church because him.

We all deal with it in different ways, personally I don't see any problems in your way of handling it since it is something that affects a large deal of people over there - apparently since they're still trying to 'make you see the error of your ways'. When it's one against so many who refuse to see their own errors what can be done besides ignoring it?
