What kind of data usage per month would the average user ... use? The plans start from 500mb/mth and go all the way up to unlimited.

I've had a 3G iPhone for my 3rd month now, I just checked the phone settings and I've sent 20.7mb and received 388mb since purchase, I don't know if that includes wifi because the subscription I have with my mobile network includes free wifi access for 2 of the largest wifi providers in the UK which gets picked up automatically when you're at a hot spot. I use the email / net daily but not heavily, mostly text / picture driven but I've also downloaded an estimated 100mb+ worth of data straight from 3G (podcasts / videos, mp3s).
