Thoughts in cold storage
So we're doing a bit of a declutter at the moment, and pondering moving into smaller house. At the moment we're in a three bedroom place, using one of the spare rooms as an office and the other as a library. We've shrunk our book collection by a good 30-40% over the course of the year, which seems to have improved the average quality, but it's hard work maintaining eclecticism.
I'm slowly starting to use more ebooks, but there probably a hundred or so that I'd be hard pressed to not keep in dead tree form (useful classic textbooks, a few hard SF author collections (Reynolds, Hamilton, Banks), some other oddments).
