Try not to deprive yourself of sleep. That way you're more likely to not enter the higher levels of sleep, which cause you to remember your dreams.

Avoiding dreaming in general is impossible. If you sleep you dream.

Yes. Dreams cycle around - it's likely you experience more than one dream while you sleep, but don't realize it. People feeling like they can't remember dreaming is normal because they weren't in a deep enough sleep for it to register.
