I went to go see Elizabethtown again today too, this time by myself. I enjoyed it just as much, if not more, the second time around. Some of the things that bothered me the first time didn't this time. I noticed more of what was going on in the story with other characters. I didn't think I'd been distracted that much by Orlando the first time around, but maybe I was

I went over to IMDB and noticed they'd adjusted the numbers; all three movies are a lot closer in the rankings now than they were before. That's a very good point you make about the per screen total, too. I notice it says that Sunday's numbers are still estimates, so it's possible things might shift again once they get the final totals. The Fog was at 14 mill when I checked before and now it's at 12. Of course I hope the final numbers don't shift against Etown...argh

You started a little Sean-Orli????!!!! *BIG smile* I'm sure it could go somewhere, like onto your LJ for your adoring fans to read.... and Orli needs your support right now....*big greedy hopeful grin*
I totally agreed with everything you said. It was a great movie, but it could have threaded together a bit better...and since they really didn't develop Susan's character, I would have cut the comedy/tap dance part out altogether, though watching Drew's face as he was shocked/embarrassed, then pleased, then proud made it better.
Yeah, it's weird, because I thought the first time that Susan's part could have been cut, but then on second viewing I appreciated it more. I think the biggest problem in this movie was that some things just went on too long. You could have them in there, but they needed to be trimmed so better focus could be gained. But it's a tough job...when you're trying to tell so many stories at once.
Drew's look of shock at first in that scene was so utterly priceless...hee...that's the thing. It's those little moments that I'm sure made it difficult to edit stuff out.

I would love to give Orlando my personal support in the form of a giant squeezy hug and big sloppy kiss...and...other things... :P

I also started writing a bit of a very silly Sean/Orli, but I've no idea if it will go anywhere
Ah, really? Well, maybe then, a penny for your thoughts. Or maybe another one, or this shinier one. Hopefully that will help a little in getting the muses talking to you.
