Monday, August 25th: I will be collected by Buffistas and taken to San Francisco for food and beer at the Thirsty Bear. We're meeting at 7:30.

Tuesday, August 26th: Currently we're thinking sushi. Or Singaporean. With la_perkins in Mountain View. Anyone else want to come?

Can I crash the Thirsty Bear party? It's hard for me to get to Mountain View, but I live in SF, so that would work great for me.

I'm good either Tuesday or Wednesday, and staying local to Mountain View is fine -- it's halfway between my house and the BORG office. :->

If you like lamb, we should really take you to Kabul...

Okay, if makesmewannadie wants lamb we can do that Wednesday (it's not near the train station, but I can pick her up as well as you *g*) or else we can do it on Tuesday, and you guys can do sushi on Wednesday.

If this works for you, then you can be official on your announcing, and then it's easier for people to decide what day they're gonna meet up. :-> Especially since I'll need to make reservations for Kabul. They're very popular. And very good.

Beyond that, I've heard good things about a couple sushi places in Mountain View, if that appeals one night.

Edit: It looks like sushi on Tuesday is great, and lamb at Kabul on Wednesday is on!

Curse you, stupid boss! I'm busy up in Lake County all next week, otherwise I would definitely trek to see y'all, shrift. But, again, I'm in Lake County, and trying to get to the East Bay from Lake County? So not on!

But enjoy our fabulously mild weather, and remember this is California where we've had the no smoking in bars/restaurants law since '97ish (I vaguely recall the ads for it during one of the '96 elections, but don't think it went into effect until '97. I can't say, my hometown has been smoke-free in public since '93... so it was normal for me by then.) Also? Bring a light coat, we get the ocean fog here, and there are days it doesn't burn off until noon.

And I've been to California many times in the last 7 years, so I'm aware of the smoking laws. Chicago has gone non-smoking as well. And I have to pack for the Bay Area and Atlanta, so I have a wide variety of clothing in my suitcase. I'm used to layering.

Yeah, I've been looking at weather forecasts. I've got a light jacket packed for CA and a hoodie for Dragon*Con, because the convention rooms are almost always frigid.

And I'm from the midwest; sometimes we have all four seasons in one day, so I tend to be prepared.

I'm available Tuesday or Wednesday. Tuesday's dinner options are food I can eat, but I'm also tempted to come on Wed to meet more folks (we will not speak of how sad it is that I need someone from out of town to meet local people) though I suspect there's not much I can eat there (it's very close to where I live, and I've been curious about it ever since we moved down here). I am indecisive! Perhaps after some sleep, all will become clear.

& also, I do not have your #. I'll send you an email with mine.
