Sometimes I play my cards too close to my vest, I guess, because until recently, I don't think very many people knew about my utter, unironic love for My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy ( Read more... )

I love that icon.

Gerard is pretty fabulous, and I completely understand why you would have an overwhelming crush on him. I think I would too, if I wasn't currently crushing madly on Patrick Stump. Who is beyond adorable.

So, is there anything you want me to pick up for you at the MCR show in May?

You mean, other than Frank? Hee.

I remember listening to MCR before I knew any of their names. I would only see them in the videos and thought the one with the glasses was kind of hot. Then I stumble across the fandom and all the picspams and I still think Mikey's hot, but Frank, that boy snuck up on me. Now there's no hope for me at all. I would resent him for it, but then he's got those eyes and I realize I really don't mind. Irony's boring anyway.

I listened to MCR, decided I like them, and vaguely knew who they where individually. I don't often look too closely at artists I enjoy listening to in case I don't like what I find, you know? But I got lucky, and it turned out the boys were awesome.

I know, right? There's just something about Frank. With his eyes and tattoos and the way that he rocks a pink belt, and how the dorky faces he pulls don't make him any less hot.

Patrick is an excellent secret girlfriend. Sometimes he makes me feel Mrs. Robinson-y even though I'm only, what, five years older than he is? But I forget that whenever he blindsides me with his awesome, so.

He does inspire the Mrs. Robinson-y feel, doesn't he? 'Cause I totally have that too. And then he sings or um, talks, or you know, breathes and I go back to being all, "Hi Patrick, you are awesome and also you have pretty thighs and hands and an amazing mouth. You just keep on keeping on, okay? Because...yes."

I also find myself flailing helplessly in the general direction of Andy. Glasses! Labret! tattoos! excellent hands! sings showtunes with Patrick to warm up! *flail*!

He's very talented, but he started out so young and is *still* so young that I occasionally have attacks of "but you're just a *baby*."

And then I turn around and he's smirking at the camera and tugging on his hat like in "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" and I lose all moral qualms. Hi, Patrick. Hi.

Andy is awesome, and I love to watch him play. And Joe makes me laugh pretty much constantly.

I like MCR too. "Dead!" is the funniest song in the universe. Well, barring RE Your Brains by Jonathan Coulton, I guess.

Never really got into Fall Out Boy, though... I can't actually understand any of their lyrics...

I think Re: Your Brains will always win. I mean, it's basically Office Space with Zombies.

At first I couldn't make much sense of Fall Out Boy's lyrics, but the more I listened, I eventually caught on. I had to learn how to comprehend Pearl Jam back in the day, too.

At least they're popular, so you can look up the words. I've fallen in love with Somerset, specifically "The Tragedy Of Christopher Needs", and the lyrics just are not on the web. *sigh*

I'd apologize, but, seriously, I just cannot be sorry for bringing that sweet little Patrick Stump dude into your life.

Early this year, I went to sleep liking Fall Out Boy music, and the next day, I woke up and I was in love with Patrick Stump. I honestly don't know what happened. It's like a communicable disease! Or perhaps he stole my soul!

I blame YouTube. If it wasn't for YouTube, I never would have watched any interviews. And if it wasn't for the interviews, I never would have discovered how totally insanely awesome Patrick is. And if Patrick wasn't so awesome, the universe would, um... collapse on itself like a dying star?

His hats! The shoes! He used to start fights at Taco Cabana! He quotes 80s movies and worships Prince and doesn't understand why anyone would want his autograph and imagines what his and Pete's children would be like and he has a dirty mouth oh my god his mouth.

Right. As you were.

And now I really want to see the interviews where he talks about their future children and the fights he used to start.

Clearly I need to post a link list of important interviews. I might be able to hook more people on Patrick Stump if I do that. Awesome. Everyone needs to fall in love with that little dude. It is now on my list of things to do!

You don't do live music? Is it because of the noise volume or the crowds? I mean, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I used to go to concerts all the time in college, and I'd come back from them partially deaf and sometimes covered in beer because some douchebag was moshing by the bar all by himself.

I think I am going to HCT while they're in Chicago, despite the fact that I'm older than the band.
